Overview

  • Educational Workshops

The first step to change is education. We host virtual and in-person panels where doctors, researchers, nutritionists, policymakers, and stakeholders are invited to come share their expertise on cardiovascular disease risk factors and prevention strategies for youth. As a community, we can learn the importance of leading healthy lifestyles beginning at an early age. Keep an eye out for upcoming expert panel dates on the calendar below!

  • Heart Screening Campaigns

By partnering with local hospitals, we put together a team of cardiology healthcare providers to travel to underserved and lower-income areas in New York. There, we set up mobile vans in public facilities to offer free heart screenings, health brochures, and tailored educational workshops. This pushes forward our goal reducing disparities in cardiovascular healthcare, mainly those arising from social determinants of health.

  • Legislative Advocacy

Join us in advocating for increased cardiovascular health promotion and disease prevention on the political level. Through speaking and collaborating with New York State Assemblymembers, we hope to integrate CPR training into school health curriculums, establish healthier school lunch options, increase access to affordable healthcare, increase access to AEDs in schools and workplaces, implement more tobacco control, reduce healthcare disparities, and more.

Join us for fundraisers to support our initiatives promoting youth heart health and for card-making to leave a positive message with heart disease patients!
